Over-tightening the Screws

Over-tightening the screws during installation may cause the motor to jam up with prolonged use. It may also cause difficulty when trying to operate the deadbolt using a key. 

If you are concerned that the screws are too tight, because you are experiencing mechanical issues such as your lock jamming or difficulty using a key, we recommend removing the lock from the mounting plate and loosening the mounting plate screws half a turn. This will create a small amount of wiggle room to help the lock operate optimally.

Adapters

Mechanical issues may result from the use of the incorrect adapter during lock installation. Incorrect adapter placement may also impact the Lock’s performance.
