How do I replace the batteries in my Yale Assure Lever?
Insert the battery removal tool into the hole at the top of your battery cover. Remove the battery cover. Remove the 4 AA batteries and insert 4 new AA batteries. Reinstall the black battery cover and tighten using the small black screw.
How often should the batteries be changed?
The batteries are expected to last up to one year under normal operating conditions. Extreme high and low temperatures may affect battery performance. If the battery is low, a series of warning beeps will sound and the Assure Lever will also provide you with a visual low battery warning after a valid code has been entered. The lock operates as normal immediately following the alerts. The critical battery indicator causes the Assure Lever to flash red and the lock does not operate. For versions with the mechanical key, you can be used to unlock the lock under these conditions. All Assure Levers are equipped with 9V battery terminals on the keypad of the lock. If the batteries die, you can touch a 9V battery to the terminals and the lock will power up; allowing you to enter your entry code and open your door. Replacing the battery once every year is recommended to ensure optimal performance.
Can I purchase a lock cylinder to use with my Assure Key Free Lever?
The Assure Key Free lever is designed to work without a key cylinder. We cannot guarantee the lock will function properly with a secondary cylinder or store bought cylinder and doing so will void your warranty. We offer keyed versions of the Assure Levers. Click here for more information.
