General Questions
For which applications is the touchscreen most suitable? What about the pushbutton model?
The capacitive touchscreen is our go-to keypad, and works great in many applications.
Where a more tactile experience or ADA compliance is required, the pushbutton keypad can be used. An example of this would be situations where gloves are commonly worn, such as a jet bridge or airport apron door.

nexTouch is designed with a weather resistant gasket seal inside and out, and remains operational in many weather conditions. nexTouch can withstand temperatures ranging from -40° F (-40° C) to 140° F (60° C). What kind of batteries does nexTouch require?
nexTouch requires 4 alkaline AA batteries.
How does the 9V battery power backup work?

Can nexTouch be hardwired?
Yes, up to two (2) nexTouch locks can be hardwired using a 784 optional remote 9VDC power supply with plug-in wall transformer.
Features
How does privacy mode work?
Each nexTouch cylindrical and exit trim comes with an optional Door Position Sensor, or DPS. Privacy mode for the nexTouch sectional mortise is dependent on the built-in auxiliary latch. When the user presses the interior privacy pushbutton for 3 seconds, an audible message indicates that privacy mode has been enabled. This feature temporarily locks the outside keypad to prevent entry. When the door is opened from the inside, privacy mode is disabled. Please refer to the nexTouch installation instructions for more information on how to enable privacy mode.
Privacy mode is great for application such as single-use restrooms or multi-family residences.
