This guide will assist in the replacement of the Yale Bluetooth Network Module on a Yale Assure Lock (YRD416, YRD426, YRD446 or YRD456). If you have any questions during this process, please email Support@YaleLock.com.
NOTE: Bolt must be in retracted (unlocked) position during this entire procedure.
1. Remove the battery cover and batteries from your lock.
2. Release the interior side of the lock by unscrewing the two black screws located in the battery compartment, and the third black screw located at the bottom of the lock, under the thumb turn. Notice orientation of tailpiece and latchbolt hole. They must match when inserting tailpiece into hole in step 7.
3. Unhook the cable from the cable adapter on the interior side of the lock.
4. Locate the black Bluetooth module. To remove, press the left side of the module and lift.
5. Replace with the new Yale Bluetooth Network Module by first inserting the right side of the module into the slot provided in circuit board and then pressing the left side of the module inwards so that both hooks are in place.
6. Connect the cable to the cable adapter, ensuring that the two small ridges located at the top of the cable are facing you. NOTE: Cable should be threaded back under cable hook so it does not interfere with lock operation.
7. Reinstall the interior side of the lock, batteries and battery cover. NOTE: Orientation of tailpiece and orientation of latchbolt hole must match for successful reassembly and operation of lock.
