Step 1: Download the Yale Access App
Create an account and home.
PLEASE NOTE: If you already use the August App, please use the same login.
- Tap “Set up a device” from the menu.
- You’ll need your QR code or serial number, located on the inside of the safe door.
Step 2: Install the Smart Safe
Mount Safe for Added Security
There are 8 mounting hole locations on the Smart Safe. Based on your conditions, select a minimum of 4 that best secure safe.
Insert Batteries
Insert 4 AA batteries into battery compartment on inside of safe door
Step 3: Set up your Smart Safe in the Yale Access App
Pair Smart Safe to App
The safe will be in Bluetooth pairing mode for 10 minutes after batteries are inserted. If Bluetooth pairing times out, press and hold Reset button on inside of safe door for 5 seconds.
You’ll need your Smart Safe's serial number located on the inside of the safe door.
Pair Smart Safe to Connect*
Note serial number located on back of Connect. Plug Connect into an INDOOR outlet within 10 feet of the Smart Safe. You'll need your Connect's serial number located on the back of the device.
*Connect WiFi Bridge included with select models
Don’t want to use the App? Keypad Only
- Press Factory Reset button until you hear a beep (or wait 10 minutes for Bluetooth pairing to time out)
- Enter 4-8 digit desired programming code
- Press ✓
- Re-enter code
- Press ✓
