If your Yale Real Living deadbolt gets jammed during operation, recalibration or handing might help. Handing the lock involves rearranging the motor of the lock to throw the deadbolt accurately to prevent jamming in the future.

Steps for Handing/Recalibration

Follow the steps below to hand/recalibrate your lock:

1. Enter the Master PIN followed by the Gear/Pound symbol.
2. Press the number 3 to access Advanced Settings and then press Gear/Pound to confirm.
3. Press the number 5 then press Gear/Pound to choose the option Handing the lock.
4. Press the Gear/Pound symbol one more time to start the handing process.

The Yale lock will engage the deadbolt and lock your door. If handing is successful, the lock will display a "Completed" message or a success sound (if it is a push button lock).

If there is a problem during the process, please troubleshoot either the interior escutcheon or the deadbolt latch.
