How do I Create Yale Recipes with IFTTT?

IFTTT (If This Then That) is a service that connects over 600 devices, web, and mobile services to each other via a trigger and action model. Create conditional statements or 'Applets' based on activities from your Yale account and devices. For instance, you can develop a program in IFTTT to receive an email every time a new Guest is added to your house. Or trigger Hue to turn on your house lights when you unlock your front door.

PLEASE NOTE: In order for this integration to work, we recommend using a Yale Connect Wi-Fi bridge.

Develop IFTTT Applets

  1. Tap the IFTTT mobile app or open the website and sign in
  2. Go to My Applets and select the + to add a new Applet
  3. Search Services for 'Yale' and select the Yale Home service to create Applets based off your Yale devices
  4. Connect your Yale App to IFTTT
  5. Select triggers from the list of options to create the 'If' condition
  6. IFTTT will suggest Services to complete the 'Then' action. For example, IF door is unlocked, THEN text family "I'm home!"

There are myriad combinations for you to play with. IFTTT works on both Mobile and Web. Learn more about using IFTTT and Yale here.

PLEASE NOTE: Only Yale ‘Owners’ can use the IFTTT service.
